Colon Cancer Screening

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. What’s the good news? It’s one of the most detectable cancers and it responds well to early treatment.
It’s recommended that everyone age 50 and older get screened…it prevents up to 60 percent of colorectal cancer deaths. Most people who get the disease do not have known risk factors. Others have:
  • A personal or family history of colon polyps or inflammatory bowel disease
  • A history of other cancers (such as breast or ovarian)
  • Diabetes
  • And age increases your risk

For a colon cancer screening, please schedule an appointment with your gastroenterologist.
